21 Hand Knit THRUMMED Mittens - Wool Mittens - Luxury Mittens - Adult Sized Handmade Mittens

These beautiful thrummed mittens will warm your hands and your heart. The pattern on the outside is created by the thrums on the inside. Thrums are tufts of wool roving (carded, unspun sheep’s wool). They create a soft, fluffy and incredibly warm lining for the mittens. The thrums will eventually felt as you wear your mittens, creating an insulating layer. Thrummed mittens originated in Newfoundland where they know how to stay warm in the winter.

These mittens were designed and created by me in my smoke free home. They are an adult medium. Because knitwear is stretchy, sizes overlap somewhat. 

The yarn used to make these mittens is 100% wool, and so they should be hand washed and laid flat to dry. Do NOT machine wash or dry.
